Hello

My name is Dr. Nancy Goodrich Mitts (she/her/hers) and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Illinois. I am currently located in the Champaign-Urbana area and can see individuals from anywhere in Illinois for online therapy appointments.

A bit about me:
I earned my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Indiana University and completed my Doctoral Internship at Virginia Commonwealth University Counseling Services. Most of my training has been in university settings or with young/early career adults; however, I welcome the opportunity to work with adults of all ages. I am particularly passionate about empowering trauma survivors, queer folks, and neurodivergent people as they navigate a world in which they are marginalized and misunderstood

Other things to know about me include that I tend to be introverted but adventurous and enjoy traveling often. I have a good sense of humor and, as a millennial therapist, I am particularly fond of therapy memes. In my free time, I can be found somewhere in nature, drinking tea, or fawning over my cats. I love fantasy worlds and am known to escape to them through reading. I'm currently working to turn my thumb green and trying (but failing) not to pick up a new crafting hobby. I'm also a recovering perfectionist who seeks to support others in embracing their stories and healing along the way. I bring a calm, compassionate presence to my sessions and will always be respectful and real with you. If you think we might work well together, please contact me using the information below to schedule a consultation! And yes, there are lots of cats on my website because I am affectionately and unabashedly a quirky cat lady.
